Join Our Team as a Production Machine Operator! New Era Staffing is seeking a dedicated Production Machine Operator on behalf of our client, a large food manufacturer in the Auburn, WA area. Position Title: Production Machine Operator
Pay Rate: $23 - $24/hr (DOE) + $1.50/hr differential for sanitation shift
Shift: Monday to Thursday, 10:30 PM to 6:15 AM; Friday, 10:30 PM to 10:30 AM (Saturdays required as needed)
Location: Auburn, WA

Position Summary:
As a Production Machine Operator, you will be responsible for the efficient and accurate operation of packaging machinery to ensure the highest standards of product quality. This includes monitoring and maintaining proper product weight, spicing, sealing, and code dating of finished goods. In this role, you will conduct daily inspections of equipment to ensure cleanliness and sanitation, perform required checks on metal detectors, and manage changeovers and film replacements as needed. You will coordinate spicing with the appropriate packaging film, verify bag seams for seal integrity, and monitor code dates for accuracy at regular intervals. Collaboration with quality control is essential to uphold production standards, maintain detailed records, and troubleshoot potential equipment issues before they impact operations. By ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of all machinery and communicating effectively with production associates, you will help maintain workflow efficiency and support the successful completion of packaging schedules.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience operating production or packaging machinery in a manufacturing or food production environment preferred.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform equipment inspections, adjustments, and troubleshooting.

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure product quality, accurate code dating, and integrity of seals.

  • Familiarity with food safety, sanitation practices, and quality control procedures.

  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, production schedules, and quality standards.

  • Understanding of safety protocols and proper handling of equipment and materials.

  • Knowledge of metal detector procedures and packaging film usage.

  • Organizational and record-keeping skills to maintain accurate production documentation.

  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production goals.

  • Capable of standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and performing repetitive tasks.

  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, or overtime as needed.

  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Technical training or certifications in machinery operation, maintenance, or food safety are a plus.
