Job Title: Diesel Mechanic
Location: Tacoma, WA
Pay: $25 - $35/hr (DOE)
Schedule: 8 am - 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday

Diesel Mechanic Position Summary:

A Diesel Mechanic is responsible for collaborating with production staff to enhance the reliability of production equipment and complete repair tasks in a manner that minimizes reactive downtime.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

• Consulting the Manager and reading work orders to evaluate the tasks required.
• Valid Driver's License Required
• CDL Class A Driver's License Preferred
• Preparing work plans after fully scoping out the issues.
• Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions
• Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering, and exhausts
• Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines, fuses, hoses, mud flaps, and other general associated parts
• Conducting field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown
• Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance.
• Completing oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment, and brake checks
• Maintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles
• Record all service and repairs in maintenance logbooks.
• Record all maintenance-related expenditures in logbooks.
• 2-3 years of diesel mechanic experience required.
